I Was Featured in Marie Claire Australia - Here's What I Actually Said
If you've been following The Spiritual Toolbox for a while, you'll know I don't usually talk about press. I make things, I teach things, I show up online and talk about the work. But this one felt worth sharing, partly because of what the piece got right, and partly because there's more context behind it that didn't make the final cut.
A little while ago I was approached by Amy Molloy be interviewed for Marie Claire Australia, as part of a piece on psychics, practitioners, and the people who work with them.
Who actually buys ritual tools
The part of the interview that made it to print was about my customers. Specifically, who they are....Lawyers. Accountants. Counsellors. Educators...People who spend their professional lives in highly rational, evidence-based environments, and who come to The Spiritual Toolbox not to escape that world, but to feel more grounded within it.
This doesn't surprise me at all. It's what I've observed since we opened in 2016. Ritual practice isn't about abandoning critical thinking. It's about having a framework for the parts of life that logic doesn't fully reach...decisions that feel stuck, transitions that feel heavy, periods where you need something to anchor your intention before you act.
The quote I gave them was "This isn't about escaping reality. It's about feeling more in control of it."
That's still the most accurate thing I know how to say about why people work with tools like ours.
The products they mentioned
The piece touched on a few of our products - Psychic Shield Spray, which is our bestseller and has been since practically day one, and Release the Soul Ritual Balm, which is part of our Soul range.
Psychic Shield works because it addresses something people genuinely feel but don't always have language for, which is the experience of picking up other people's energy and carrying it around without meaning to. It's not a metaphor for most of our customers. It's something they notice in their body after certain interactions, certain environments, certain days. The spray gives them a tool and a ritual to respond to that.
Release the Soul is quieter in terms of profile but meaningful in terms of what it's for. It's designed to support the body in shifting what gets held physically, so grief, stagnation, and the kinds of heaviness that sit in the chest or shoulders. It belongs in a slower, more internal kind of practice.
There was also a mention of the phallus candles, which I'll be honest, I expected. They're one of our most frequently sold-out products and they always catch attention. They're used in love and attraction work (with free will and consent), which matters and which I said clearly in the interview. I'm glad that made it in.
What I'd add
The piece was accurate, which I was grateful for. What it couldn't cover in the space available was the practitioner side of what we do, the School of Magick, the depth of research that goes into how our products are formulated, the fact that everything made in this store is grounded in actual training in aromatherapy, astrology, and energetic practice.
That context matters to me because it's what distinguishes a tool that's been made with genuine intention from something that just looks the part. Every oil, every spray, every blend in this store has been developed from a working knowledge of the tradition it draws from. That's not marketing language. It's just what I consider the baseline.

It's a well-written piece and the broader context, the growing mainstream interest in psychics and practitioners is worth reading if this is a world you move in or are curious about.
And if you're new here
