Position: Casual Retail Assistant
Location: South Hurstville

Join the The Spiritual Toolbox team, a family run metaphysical shop based in South Hurstville NSW 2221.

If you are passionate about crystals, astrology, metaphysics and witchcraft and enjoy being a flexible and adaptable retail assistant, we want to hear from you!

This is a casual role, with an estimated average workload of 4-8 hours per week over 1 or 2 days. This is subject to increase over busy retail periods. Flexible and negotiable hours to accommodate your other commitments and family needs

We are predominantly an online business, with a brick and mortar retail shop open 6 days a week (Mon-Sat). 

Responsibilities

    • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Answer customer inquiries and provide product information.
    • Have some knowledge of crystals and metaphysical concepts
    • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
    • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
    • Pick and pack online orders accurately and efficiently.
    • Basic back-end Shopify skills, or willing to learn.
    • Ensure online orders are prepared for shipment in a timely manner.
    • Assist with stocking shelves, organising displays, and ensuring products are properly labeled and priced.
    • General cleaning duties include dusting shelves, sweeping and vacuuming the floor.
    • Conduct inventory checks on the back end online/in store and report discrepancies.
    • Help maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store.
    • Photograph new stock in ideal lighting situations.
    • Fill and label bottles/products.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have some knowledge of crystals and metaphysical concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Independent work skills, able to take initiative.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • A natural creative, think outside of the box type of person.
  • Bonus points for being interested in helping to create videos / behind the scenes content for engaging social media reels and TikTok’s (not essential but preferred)
  • Must be able to work around large dogs. Sometimes we have our beloved furry family members at the shop.
