Traditionally created by blending salt with ashes, charcoal, soot, and protective ingredients as a tool for banishing, protection, uncrossing, and boundary work. It is often described as the shadow counterpart to White Salt.

Black Salt is worked when something needs to be removed, driven away, bound, or prevented from returning. Historically, forms of Black Salt appear throughout several traditions. Hoodoo practitioners combined salt with soot, ashes, and protective ingredients to create wards against spiritual attack and crossed conditions. Across parts of Europe, darkened salt was scattered around property boundaries, thresholds, and doorways to prevent harmful influences from entering the home.

Although methods vary between traditions, the principle remains remarkably consistent. Salt creates the boundary. Ash and charcoal absorb what does not belong. Together they form a preparation designed to remove unwanted influence while reinforcing spiritual protection.

Our Black Salt is handcrafted using traditional methods. Each batch is blended from Himalayan Salt, ashes collected from ritual herbs and resins burned within my cauldron, and Selenite powder for spiritual cleansing and energetic reinforcement.

No colouring agents are added....Because each batch contains genuine ritual ash, colours naturally vary from pale ash-grey through to deep charcoal black. This variation is normal and does not affect the effectiveness of the preparation.

To further align the salt with its traditional purpose, each batch is blended on the Day of Saturn during the Hour of Saturn - a planetary timing long associated with banishing, protection, boundaries, endings, and defensive magical work.
